Practical Management of Food Allergy in Children

University College Hospital, Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health and the Allergy Academy are pleased to announce the return of the highly successful 'Practical Management of Food Allergy' study day to our Autumn programme. This course is aimed at healthcare professionals caring for patients with food allergies, particularly dietitians, doctors and allied health care professionals. This year the programme, delivered by experts in the field, focuses on optimising nutrition and multidisciplinary strategies to improve the quality of life of children and families living with food allergy.


Learning objectives:

  • Managing complex diets for young children in the 21st century
  • The importance of appropriately diagnosing milk allergy; DRACMA latest recommendations
  • Recognising and recommending safe dietary alternatives for non-IgE allergy and in children with a history of Food-Protein-Induced-Enterocolitis-Syndrome
  • Recognising Eosinophilic Oesophagitis according to updated criteria and need for repeated clinical review
  • Making safe recommendations for children with functional bowel conditions and taking medications for those with non-IgE food allergies
