The King’s College London Allergy Academy was formed as a response to the shortcomings in Allergy education highlighted by the House of Lords report into UK Allergy Services.
The aim of the Academy is to build on our current reputation for delivering high quality educational opportunities to provide a broad based, comprehensive programme that will serve the full range of people who are currently demanding it – patients, parents, nurses, dieticians, general and specialist physicians.
The Academy programme is focused on offering practical courses which will help develop the practice of the large number of different health care professionals who deal with allergic patients every day.
The Academy will be reaching out to a larger and wider audience than any other educational initiative in the area of Allergy has attempted to before. This will also provide an exciting new opportunity to develop an
increasing understanding of allergy amongst healthcare workers and promote
models of holistic care. We also aim to promote the use of new treatment
modalities that are available yet currently under used due to a lack of
services to deliver them
