Paediatric Allergy Advanced Nurse Practitioner

 

Rebecca Batt began her career in allergy in 2007 when she became a Paediatric Allergy Clinical Nurse Specialist at King’s College Hospital, London. She ran nurse led outpatient and immunotherapy clinics and was responsible for all the food and drug challenges. She provided teaching and support for inpatients, ED and the community. She gained the MSc (Allergy) from Imperial College, London in 2011. Rebecca regularly speaks at study days and conferences and has published articles in nursing journals. Her special interests lie in anaphylaxis and patient education. She is now a Paediatric Allergy Advanced Nurse Practitioner at the Evelina Children’s Hospital.

 

Roisin Fitzsimons

Roisin Fitzsimons

Roisin Fitzsimons is Allergy Consultant Nurse and Allergy Service Lead for Quality, Patient Experience and Transformation at Guys and St Thomas Hospital.  Roisin has worked in the Children’s Allergy Service, since it began in 2006, she has been instrumental in developing the nurse-led service, which includes the food and drug challenge service.  Roisin’s particular areas of interest include drug allergy and sublingual immunotherapy.  Roisin has successfully completed the MSc in Allergy at Southampton University and is privileged to now lecture on the course.  Roisin is also an honourary lecturer at The University of Hertfordshire and is a committee member of the BSACI Nurses in Allergy group, conference planning committee and BSACI Council.  Roisin has pioneered nursing involvement within the Allergy Academy, speaking at events and is the nursing course director.
